The Prayer Team exists both to (A) consistently and passionately pray for the North Park University campus and the individual concerns of its members and to (B) offer prayer opportunities to the campus. Two students co-lead this team in achieving the accomplishment of these two equally important goals.
Team Participation Commitments
· A two-semester commitment
· 2-3 hour time commitment each week
· attendance at weekly meeting (1 hr)
· meet with your partner weekly to pray together and plan (1/2 hr)
· pray on your own for your area and for campus needs (1/2 hr)
· planning/emailing needed for your specific area (up to 1/2 hr)
· meet regularly (bi-weekly) with co-leader (1 hr)
· Maintenance of a personal prayer, devotion and worship life
· A passion to pray for others
· Understanding of the spiritual formation strategy of University Ministries
· Embrace and support of the vision and mission of the Prayer Team
· Willingness and ability to hold all prayer requests in confidence
· Responsibility for the organization and execution of one aspect or area of the prayer related events including but not limited to prayer chapels, midnight prayer times, pre/post worship prayer, prayer walk, Prayer for the Nations, campus prayer, and/or prayer for UMIN staff
· Accountability to co-leaders and all team members
Teams to choose from:
Campus Prayer Walk
This ministry provides a unique opportunity to walk around North Park campus while praying for the various needs of North Parkers and the North Park community as a whole. Campus Prayer Walk starts at 7:00pm in front of the seminary building every Sunday.
Prayer for the Nations
We will be focusing on praying for the Global partner locations this year: Appalachia, Bolivia, Chile, Gulf Coast, Mexico, Thailand and Zambia. Also praying for what’s going on around the world.
Campus Prayer
Bringing forward the needs of our campus using the campus calendar, the prayerrequest email, and any faculty/staff/students that you know need prayer.
Midnight Intercession
An evening prayer time open to all on campus. Held in Sohlberg lounge.
