International Hospitality Program (InHoP)
University Ministries collaborates with other departments on campus to provide a host family experience for International students. Monthly meals in a home and group activities throughout the year are part of the program. Three-Fold Purpose of the International Hospitality Program
• To provide undergraduate international students with a warm, hospitable environment which fosters community and the sharing of cultures thus providing them with a holistic support network both on- and off- campus.
• To provide host families an opportunity to engage in a give-and-take learning relationship and thus become more hospitable, global Christians.
• To provide undergraduate domestic students with an opportunity to interact and connect with international students in a non-threatening environment and build relationships that will be sustained both on- and off-campus.
Host Family Structure and Expectations (Fall 2007)
• 1 large group open house
• 3 host family gatherings
· (at least) one meal per month (Oct, Nov, Dec)
· 3rd Sunday of each month encouraged - 5-7:30 pm
· International students encouraged to invite one domestic
student or friend
• Large Group Celebration in December - TBA & organized by InHoP
• Open communication between host family and students (phone calls, emails, birthdays, etc.)
