COLLEGELIFE
Not just another service, collegelife is a communal worship experience with the intention of learning and living out what it means to follow Jesus. Through the arts, brief practical teachings, and the opportunity to respond, our hope is to bring a Christian perspective to the real life issues students face today. Everyone is welcome as we seek to grow in our faith together. collegelife takes place on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. in Anderson Chapel.
These are the four passions of collegelife that shape and direct us:
› connecting: we want to be about community; most of our speakers are around North Park and know and address issues that are relevant to our community in a practical way.
› creating: we want to celebrate the many artistic gifts within our community; these expressions of beauty enhance our worship of god, the ultimate creator.
› responding: we are setting aside time in each gathering to put our faith into action; whether it’s a character issue like judgmentalism or more external issue like generosity; making it possible to become a doer of the word, not just a hearer.
› becoming: we want to become the kind of men and women god intended for us to be; through our commitment to attending and participating each Sunday night—by connecting, creating and responding together, we can be light in the darkness around us, living witnesses to the teachings and the power of Jesus.
TEAM:
The collegelife planning team will consist of no more than 8 students from diverse backgrounds and at various stages of their North Park experience. We are looking for students with leadership, creativity and the ability to commit to serving the collegelife community.
TIME COMMITMENT:
The Planning Team meets once weekly for 2 hours, and on Sunday evenings before and after collegelife. The total time commitment is roughly 8-10 hours a week.
Take me to the application.
