For extra credit (up to 3 points) on unit exams in Spanish 1010, you can memorize a Bible verse in Spanish.

Hints:

Focus on words that you know or recognize rather than on words you don't know.
If you check a verse against an English translation, keep in mind that you will not find an exact word-for-word correspondence. There are dozens of versions of the Bible, and the language structures are different.
Write the verse out in big letters and post it in your room. Repeat it to yourself several times a day.
Don't get discouraged early on... remember, you're just starting out in Spanish, so everything looks unfamiliar! As you go through the semester, more and more will begin to make sense!

el que me sigue = whoever follows me; tinieblas = darkness

me envió = sent me; ninguno = none

LECCIÓN 4

San Mateo 21:27 "...No sabemos." Y él también les dijo, "Tampoco yo les digo con qué autoridad hago estas cosas."

les = them, you (Uds.); tampoco = neither; dijo = said; digo = say

LECCIÓN 5

San Juan 8:43 "Por qué no entienden Uds. mi idioma? Porque no pueden escuchar mi palabra."
