Helen Cepero joined the faculty at the seminary in 2000, having received the master of divinity from North Park in 1985. She completed the bachelor of arts at Trinity Christian College in 1973 and the master of social work at the University of Illinois in 1975. Cepero served as associate pastor of Berkeley Covenant Church from 1990 to 2000. She was ordained by the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1990. In 1994, Cepero was certified as a spiritual director by the Spiritual Director's Institute (Mercy Center), Burlingame, Calif.. She is currently pursuing the doctor of ministry in spiritual formation from General Theological Foundation in Donaldson, Ind.. Cepero has worked in spiritual direction in a number of settings, including involvement with the Pastoral Care Commission of the Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church, the Center for AIDS Services in Oakland, Calif., and Kairos Prison Ministry at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif.
