Ginny Olson has been co-director of the North Park University undergraduate youth ministry department since 1995. In 2001, she was named director for the newly formed Center for Youth Ministry Studies at North Park University. She completed the Bachelor of Arts at Bethel College in 1982 and the Master of Arts in Educational Ministries at Wheaton Graduate School in 1994 where her thesis focused on the factors contributing to youth pastors leaving youth ministry within the Evangelical Covenant Church. She has taken post-graduate courses in educational studies at Trinity International University. Before teaching undergraduate and seminary students, she was involved in youth ministry for more than 15 years at various churches and camps, including Willow Creek Community Church. A frequent seminar presenter on the topics of youth ministry management, women in youth ministry, and adolescent girls, she is also the author of Teenage Girls: Exploring Issues Adolescent Girls Face and Strategies to Help Them, one of the co-authors of Youth Ministry Management Tools, and co-editor and contributing writer to Breaking the Gender Barrier in Youth Ministry.
