North Park University: Focus on the Important

RESERVATION OF LIBRARY FACILITIES

General Statement

The Library of North Park University is an extension of the classroom. During library hours, qualified users (see Admission Policy) can expect a facility which provides professional instruction, adequate learning resources, a quiet environment which is free of distraction, and sufficient space and seating which is conducive to a variety of learning styles and study needs. The library discourages any use of the facility or part of the facility that restricts the ability to serve patrons adequately. Some group activities, which are community oriented or are intended to be instructional, are encouraged.

Conference Room and Second and Third Floor Tower Rooms

Make all reservations through the Director of the Library who determines if the group and its purpose are consistent with the Library Admissions Policy and with the General Statement listed above.

These are spaces that can be used for the following purposes:

  • Committee meetings

  • Small group presentations, such as lectures or literary readings

Refreshments are acceptable under the following conditions:

  • The sponsoring group provides the refreshments.

  • Refreshments do not leave the designated space.

  • The sponsoring group thoroughly cleans up after the event.

Research Offices

Full-time faculty may reserve a research office for a semester if they are on
sabbatical. The Director of the library assigns these rooms. Full-time graduate
students may also apply for the use of a research room for one semester. If more
applications are received than available research rooms, rooms will be assigned
by lottery. All rules and regulations stipulated by the library must be followed or
                    privileges will be revoked.
