Africana Studies

The Department of Africana Studies was established in 1994 to expose the campus and wider community to the cultural, historical, social, political, economic, and religious contributions of Africa, African Americans and people of African descent throughout the Diaspora.  This includes sponsoring cultural events, public lectures, exhibits, artistic performances, and other educational programs.  The department also supports two student organizations:  The Black Student Association and The African Student Club.

North Park University also offers a major and minor in Africana Studies.
