Lundgren's main responsibility is the development and daily operations of the undergraduate educational program. In North Park's present curriculum, Lundgren instructs numerous courses including Introduction to Athletic Training, Orthopedic Assessment I & II, Prevention & Care of Athletic Injuries, Athletic Training Administration, Sports Psychology, and the Senior Seminar course. Lundgren additionaly provides athletic training coverage to the men's soccer team in the fall.

Sjovall's current responsibility include overseeing the healthcare of all North Park's NCAA Division III student-athletes, working directly with football, men's basketball, and baseball, and serving as an approved clinical instructor in the Athletic Training Educational Program.

Kelly Potteiger graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Management. Upon receiving her degree from MSU, Potteiger attended the University of North Texas where she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s soccer team. After graduating from UNT with a Master of Science in Kinesiology, she began work as an Instructor/Assistant Athletic Trainer at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. After just two years at Midwestern, she was promoted to Athletic Training Educational Program Coordinator, where she led the program through CAAHEP accreditation. Potteiger moved to Chicago in 2005 where she worked at Robert Morris College as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Potteiger is new to North Park in 2007, as the Clinical Coordinator of Athletic Training Education. Her responsibilities in this position include teaching Therapeutic Exercise, Therapeutic Modalities, and senior level practicum courses as well as overseeing athletic training duties for the indoor and outdoor track teams.

Dr. Cherise Russo, DO

Dr. Russo is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has her CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine. She received her medical degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Resurrection Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She conducted her Sports Medicine Fellowship training in California and graduated from Harbor-UCLA. Dr. Russo returned to Chicago in 2007 to become part of the faculty at the Resurrection Family Medicine Residency and the Sports Medicine Fellowship Director.

Dr. Russo is currently the Medical Director of North Park University’s athletic training program in addition to being their Head Team Physician. She is also the Team physician at Loyola Academy, Ridgewood High School, Resurrection High School, and Notre Dame High School for Girls. She is one of the lead physicians for the 2007 Chicago Marathon and is one of the volunteer physicians for the Chicago Distance Classic and Chicago Triathlon. In addition, she was the Medical Director for the 2007 National Cycling Criterium Championship. She was also a volunteer physician in Kona, Hawaii at the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in 2004 and 2005.
While in California, Dr. Russo was one of the team physicians for the Los Angeles Rugby Club and their team physician for the USA Rugby National Championship. She was also the co-medical director for the 2006 Los Angeles Triathlon. Dr. Russo was also a volunteer physician for the 2007 USA Youth Women’s Soccer Tournament in Los Angeles. She also served as the Medical Director for the NCAA Division II Men’s Far West Regional Soccer Tournament and was part of the medical team for Dew Extreme Games in San Jose in 2006.

Dr. Russo has presented at the 54th Annual Meeting American College of Sports Medicine. She continues to conduct research in Primary Care Sports Medicine and is involved with the community. When she is not taking care of athletes, she enjoys playing volleyball and running.

Dr. Troy Glaser

Dr. Troy Glaser is currently fulfilling his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Resurrection Medical Center where his duties include serving as Team Physician for our North Park Vikings. Dr. Glaser comes to us from the University of Colorado where he finished his residency in Family Medicine. He received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. He also received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Kansas State University where he was also a member of the K-State football team. Dr. Glaser is bringing much experience as a team physician to North Park. He previously served in various components to the sports medicine team of high schools, universities, professional teams, as well as bike and road races.In his spare time, Dr. Glaser likes to travel, hike, ski, play golf, and participate in team sports.
