Scandinavian Studies at North Park University

Why Scandinavian Studies?

Are you fascinated by this culture sustained by cold-weather climates and sophisticated society? If so, the Scandinavian Studies major could provide a good lens for study at North Park. You will acquire a knowledge of the Swedish or Norwegian language in its spoken and written forms and develop your awareness of the environmental and cultural context of the Scandinavian languages, i.e., Scandinavian history, literature, arts and contemporary society in five countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland).

With a well-established Swedish exchange program, there is no shortage of Scandinavian culture on our campus. Just attend one of the many events offered by the Center for Scandinavian Studies, or plan to visit a Scandinavian country yourself through one of our study abroad programs. With a major in Scandinavian Studies, you will be well prepared to actively participate in a globally expanding society.
